Sunsoft Announces Retro Game Selection for Nintendo Switch with English Release Planned

Japanese game company Sunsoft has delighted fans with the announcement of the Sunsoft is Back! Retro Game Selection for the Nintendo Switch. Scheduled for release in Japan on April 18th, this collection will feature three classic titles – The Wing of Madoola (1986), 53 Stations of the Tokaido (1986), and Ripple Island (1988). What’s even more exciting is that an English version is also in the works, ensuring that fans worldwide can enjoy these nostalgic games.

One of the standout features of this upcoming release is the inclusion of “save and rewind functions,” making the gameplay experience even more accessible and enjoyable. Additionally, players can look forward to a Gallery Mode that will showcase original illustrations, proposals, unpublished artwork, and more, providing a deeper look into the development of these beloved games.

Each title in the Retro Game Selection offers a unique gaming experience. The Wing of Madoola is a side-scrolling action game where players control Lucia and must defeat bosses to progress through various stages. 53 Stations of the Tokaido is a side-scrolling action game with addictive gameplay mechanics, where players use tantrum balls to defeat enemies and collect items to become stronger. Ripple Island is an adventure game where players guide Kyle through obstacles and decisions that will determine the fate of Ripple Island.
