Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes Patch Updates Address Performance Issues on Nintendo Switch

The highly anticipated Suikoden spiritual successor, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, has finally been released, but unfortunately, it seems to be facing some performance issues on the Nintendo Switch platform. Players have reported experiencing significant frame rate drops, long load times, and soft locks that require restarting the game.

In response to these issues, the developer Rabbit & Bear Studios has released a Version 1.0.3 patch in Japan, aimed at fixing bugs that affect game progress, improving stability, and addressing other minor issues. While the US version of the Switch release already includes this patch at launch, some players on the Eiyuden Chronicle subreddit have noted that it hasn’t done much to improve the game’s performance.

Nintendo Life, in their review of Hundred Heroes, described the performance on the Switch as a “technical disaster,” highlighting the frequent frame rate drops and struggles to maintain a consistent 30fps target. The review also mentioned uncomfortably long load times and soft locks as additional issues affecting the gameplay experience.

Despite these challenges, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has been praised for its immersive JRPG gameplay and engaging storyline. Critics have commended the game for its depth and complexity, but the technical issues on the Switch have undoubtedly dampened the overall experience for many players.

As updates continue to roll out to address these performance issues, players are encouraged to share their feedback and experiences with the game. The developer’s response to the current challenges will be crucial in determining the future success of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes on the Nintendo Switch platform.
