Tchia Switch Release Date Announced for June with New Trailer
The highly anticipated release date for the Switch version of the open-world adventure game Tchia has been set for June 27, 2024. The announcement was made just a few weeks after the game was revealed, with an initial launch window of Summer 2024. Players can now mark their calendars for the upcoming release on Nintendo’s console.
In Tchia, players will join the protagonist on a tropical journey to rescue her father from the cruel tyrant, Meavora, who rules over the archipelago. The game offers a unique gameplay experience where players can climb, glide, swim, and sail around beautiful islands in a physics-driven sandbox. Players will face off against fabric soldiers created by Meavora in open encounters where creativity is key to gaining an advantage.
One of the standout features of Tchia is the protagonist’s special gift, which allows players to take control of any animal or object they come across in the game. With over 30 animals and hundreds of objects to choose from, players can fly as a bird, explore the ocean as a fish, or dig for treasures as a dog. This ability adds a layer of depth to the gameplay, allowing players to solve puzzles and uncover secrets using their unique soul-jumping abilities.
The game also features a Tricks system that enables players to perform cool stunts and dives as they navigate the vast archipelago. The game’s heartfelt adventure is complemented by a diverse cast of characters inspired by New Caledonian cultures, with fully animated cutscenes voiced in traditional language and an original orchestral score infused with local sounds.
Players can also customize Tchia’s clothing and boat with unlockable cosmetic items, ranging from traditional looks to more extravagant options. Along the way, players will unlock useful tools such as a flashlight, slingshot, compass, and camera to aid them on their journey.
The world of Tchia draws inspiration from New Caledonia, a tiny island in the Pacific Ocean, and incorporates elements of the local landscapes, cultures, music, languages, folklores, and traditions to create a fictional world that tells a universal story for all to enjoy. The characters in the game are voiced by local talent in traditional languages and subtitled in multiple languages, including English, French, Russian, Chinese, German, and more.
