Armed and Gelatinous: Couch Edition Coming to Nintendo Switch in May 2024
Flip Studios has announced that their frenzied multiplayer arcade space shooter, Armed and Gelatinous: Couch Edition, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on May 2, 2024. The game, which features adorable gelatinous blobs engaging in all-out blob warfare, offers players the chance to customize battle modes with 16 lethal weapons, including laser rifles, rocket launchers, and melee blades.
Players can choose from various game modes such as Death Match, Time Match, Stock Match, and the new crowd favorite, Combo King. The game emphasizes that bigger does not always mean better, as smaller blobs can move with unmatched agility and launch supercharged dash attacks. Additionally, players can collect space tacos to heal and continue battling.
Armed and Gelatinous: Couch Edition also includes a variety of party game modes, such as Food Fight and Blob Dojo, as well as sports mini-games like Blob Soccer, Dodgeball, and Football. Players can unlock new weapons, items, game modes, and rulesets, allowing for endless customization and personalization.
The game features voice talent from Brian Sommer and sound design by Jory Prum, known for their work on popular titles like Diablo III and The Walking Dead. Co-founder of Three Flip Studios, Rob Howland, expressed excitement about the game’s release on consoles, stating, “We’re beyond stoked to be releasing our game on consoles after many years spent in development and over a hundred-thousand quarters spent in the arcade.”
Armed and Gelatinous: Couch Edition will be available digitally on the Switch eShop for $14.99. With its unique gameplay mechanics, diverse game modes, and customizable options, the game promises to provide hours of entertainment for players of all ages.
